Discover Yourself Through Entrepreneurship: Unleash Your Full Potential and Well-Being.

Call it Entrepreneurial Self-Discovery. The journey that comes with entrepreneurship will transform your life.

A little about my personal entrepreneurship journey -

I’ve been doing freelance design work the past 8 years and through that, have been exposed to unbelievable situations that expand my state of awareness about the world.

I dropped out of college to work for a cannabis research start up in 2015. I worked through several projects and 6 months later it was all over.

It’s been incredibly stressful, I've lost friends, moved to different states with nothing but a duffle bag (multiple times) and failed more than I care to keep track of.

The thing about this journey, although it has been a massive struggle, I've been exposed to unique, high pressure situations I would not have come across if I had stayed in school and gone the traditional route.

I’ve had situations where I have to design a solution on a tight deadline. On the other hand, I'd find myself hanging out with intelligent and inspiring people I never thought I’d meet. I’ve had to pause in the middle of some pretty mind-blowing situations and thought, "Is this real life right now"?

Freelance work is an ultra powerful and challenging double edged sword to wield. You get to learn about your clients’ business and at the same time, you challenge yourself to create something meaningful and valuable to the business through the process. Freelancing is the ultimate entrepreneurial challenge.

Entrepreneurship provides a platform for ongoing learning and development as you push yourself to create value for customers and build a successful business of your own in the process.

This not only helps you build a profitable and long-lasting business but also helps you find fulfillment in your work. There's a level of contentment and happiness that cannot be attained through traditional employment when you're engaged in work you truly enjoy that has a positive impact. This is the true beauty of it: you can make a career that is both satisfying and financially rewarding.

As an entrepreneur, you learn about strengths you never knew you had and weaknesses you need to work on.

The best part of being an entrepreneur is being able to shape your career around your interests, strengths, and values.

The ultimate goal: to strike a balance between what you love and what pays the bills, and then some. When you do that, you can build a thriving business and a life you never thought was possible. You can spend your time doing what you love and making good money while doing it!

After all, isn't that what it's all about - chasing your passions and finding joy and satisfaction in your life's work?!

Don't let the idea being entrepreneurial intimidate you.

In the coming blog posts I'll dive deeper into how to start to think entrepreneurially and spot entrepreneurial opportunities.

A crucial part to keeping this project on the rails is outlining your end goals to keep you motivated, creating a table of contents with an outline as well as setting up your editorial calendar. It's a few simple yet effective and efficient way to be disciplined about writing something meaningful. First, we’ll discuss what a goal for this type of project looks like. Goals work best when set high and with specificity. Defining your overall goal with a blog to book project goes hand-in-hand with the last stage of defining subject matter and target audience. Think about your real goal with this project because it will end up taking a good chunk of time to complete, so defining an ideal outcome is only logical. One person’s goal might be, “Complete the book project within 3 months and use it to make 4-5 new business connections via the content and promotion” Another person’s goal might be a little more lofty, “Complete the book within 1 year, self-publish and promote to larger publishers, sell at least 15K copies digitally and 10K copies in print within the next 4 years.” Take this goal as far as you want to take it. There’s not really a limit and from what I know about the law of attraction, writing some crazy goals helps you get somewhere! Imagine what you could do with the book and take it there. If it flops, you’ve just had a great practice round to start on the next one. Just keep criticism at the forefront of your adjustments and keep moving in the direction you want to take this thing. You’ll get there if you put in the work! On that note - I highly suggest reading or listening to the book The War of Art by Stephen Pressfield teaches some incredible thinking about resistance when it comes to writing and producing artwork. This is one audiobook that I listen to regularly. The tone of voice of the book, along with Mr. Pressfield’s actual voice narrating the audiobook provides some thoughtful ass kicking for your brain, and your ego.

Turning a blog into a book is a top-down approach to developing a massive footprint online. In this article, I discuss the first stage of that process; determining subject matter and target audience. No joking about Yeti's, I promise...thats a serious matter...
